Ridge Merino is an independent, family-owned Merino wool apparel company based in Mammoth Lakes, California, founded in 2014 by Susan and Jeff Russell. Designed and tested in the Eastern Sierra, Ridge Merino’s soft yet durable Merino wool clothes are built for all of life’s adventures. The company is committed to using natural, renewable and biodegradable fibers as much as possible, creating gear that reflects the strength and simplicity of nature. From day one, Ridge Merino has invested in the outdoors, donating 1% of every sale to environmental nonprofits as a member of 1% for the Planet.

Designed for high-endurance activities, the active insulation jacket with Merino wool features lightweight, water resistant and air-permeable Pertex Quantum Air shell on the outside with next to skin soft, odor-resistant Polartec® Alpha™ Direct with Wool insulation, a lofted Merino wool fiber structure with a polyester mesh core that keeps warm air in when you need it and lets it pass through when you're moving for active thermal management. The addition of Wool Grid Fleece panels under the arms and on the sides increases airflow, reduces bulk, and improves comfort when layering under a shell. The result is an incredibly versatile jacket that works as well as a standalone outer layer with lightweight warmth and weather resistance or as an ultra-breathable mid layer. This innovative fabric construction prioritizes all natural Merino wool and Tencel, and it has just a bit of polyester layered within to stabilize the fleece. This means biodegradable microfibers and way less plastic. This cozy, warm and soft fleece collection is what you'll want to wear all season long. Designed and tested in California's Eastern Sierra, it holds up to mountain life while looking great.
